NZSO NYO Chair Endowment

Support the NZSO National Youth Orchestra by endowing a chair

In 2009 the NZSO National Youth Orchestra is 50. Over its history this iconic Kiwi institution has given hundreds of talented young musicians the thrill of playing in a quality, full-size symphony orchestra under the direction of a distinguished list of conductors.

At this significant half century point, the NZSO has big plans for the future direction of the National Youth Orchestra. The first of these took place in January 2009 with a successful Summer Camp in Napier for 75 young musicians. This camp allowed musicians to experience professional tuition from NZSO Principals and extend their repertoire beyond that performed in the traditional NYO annual tour which takes place in the middle of the year.

This Summer Camp was only made possible through the generous contributions of patrons, trusts and companies who believe in the NYO just as much as we do. If you believe in investing in the future of New Zealand’s young musicians, please join with us through our NZSO National Youth Orchestra Chair Endowment Programme. Your help will ensure we can continue to provide unique and life-changing opportunities for New Zealand’s rising stars.
