A Significant Gift
Many of the musically rewarding projects, longer-term developments and outreach programmes that the NZSO carries out, rely on extra support and funding from generous NZSO Supporters.
Making a significant gift to the NZSO is a special way for you to make a real difference in the life of the Orchestra.
Your gift can be administered in two ways, in direct support of our day-to-day programs, or invested into the NZSO Foundation Endowment fund where. the interest generated is annually applied to your specific area of interest or to other NZSO initiatives. Both types of gifts are needed, however where possible we do encourage people to give via the Endowment Fund, allowing your gift to keep on giving over the longer term.
An example.
In the past few years players from the NZSO have been able to make visits to an Auckland Special School where these children get the opportunity to learn about orchestral intruments and have a go themselves. These visits are solely funded by the annual income derived from a signficant gift given to the NZSO Foundation and now held in the endowment fund. Giving the gift of music to these children endures because of this generosity.
Areas of support:
- An NZSO or NYO concert, or series of concerts
- An Instrument for use by an NZSO player
- The Education Programme or elements of it
- An NZSO International Tour
- The commissioning of a new work
