Anna developed her career as a versatile operatic and concert mezzo soprano, and following a return to New Zealand, she has made the change to soprano.

Whilst studying in Europe, Anna completed the two-year course, De Nieuwe Opera Academie, in Amsterdam. There she performed several roles to great acclaim, including Hermia in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, under Lukas Vis; Ruggiero in Handel’s Alcina, under Richard Eggar; Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, and Zita in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, both under Jeremy Carnall.

Her most recent European performances include Eurilda in Haydn’s Le Pescatrici for KammerOper Wien under Daniel Hoyem-Cavazza, Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater at Valencia's Palau de la Musica under Juan Antonio Ramirez and Gertrude in Hansel und Gretel for Teatro Castello. Anna also realised the roles of Frau F. Bergmann and Frau Gabor in the World Premiere of Frühlings Erwachen by Belgium’s premier composer Benoît Mernier with La Monnaie/De Munt, Brussels, under Jonas Alber. She was subsequently invited to perform the revival of Frühlings Erwachen for the Opera National du Rhin in Strasbourg in summer 2008, under Daniel Klajner.

Now based in Hawkes Bay, Anna performs predominantly in New Zealand and appears regularly with the major companies.  Performances with Auckland Philharmonia include Suzuki, in Puccini’s Madama Buttterfly, a maid in Strauss’s Elektra, Mezzo soloist in Beethoven’s Symphony no. 9, Wellgunde in Wagner’s Das Rheingold and Soloist in Jack Body’s ‘Carmen: Songs and Dances of Desire’, which has also been recently recorded with the NZSO.  Her appearances with the NZSO include Mezzo soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Siegrune in Wagner’s Die Walkure and more recently, Soprano soloist in the 2014 Dr Who Symphonic Spectacular, staged in Wellington. Roles with NZ Opera include Lola, in Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana, and Hansel in their 2008 tour of the Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, directed by Michael Hurst. In 2012, Anna performed the role of ‘Ann’ (Len’s wife), in Eve de Castro Robinson’s opera  ‘Len Lye: The opera’ and more, she sang the Argentinian National Anthem for the All Blacks International test against Argentina, 2014.

Anna has performed throughout the UK, Spain and New Zealand, in concert and oratorio. In 2006, together with London-based pianist Lada Valesova, Anna presented a concert tour, which included New Zealand, entitled ‘Slavic Soul’, a presentation of ensemble and solo repertoire by Romantic Russian and Czech composers.   Anna has also performed often in recital with renowned pianist, David Harper.
Among other concert and oratorio repertoire, she has sung Messiah with Christchurch City Choir, the Auckland Choral Society and Napier Civic Choir, and has also performed as Mezzo soloist in Verdi’s Requiem at TAFT, New Plymouth and with Napier Civic Choir.
Anna holds an MMus from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
