Vasilisa is a laureate of the Elena Obraztsova International Competition of Chamber Music (St. Petersburg, 2014, 2nd prize and Special Prize for best performance of 20th century composers’ music), 2nd prize of the Grand Opera television contest at the Culture TV channel (2014). In 2016 Vasilisa was awarded the Grand prix Prize at the 4th Muslim Magomaev International Vocalists’ Competition in Moscow. In 2018, she won the First Prize and the Audience prize Award at the Debut Classical Singing Competition in Germany. Also in 2018, she won the third prize and Audience prize Award at the Viotti Singing Competition in Italy.

She has worked with a number of conductors such as Andrea Marcon, Donald Runnicles, Mariss Jansons, Giacomo Sagripanti, Giampaolo Bisanti, Dmitri Jurowski, Vladimir Jurowski, Alexander Vedernikov, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Enrique Mazzola, Stefano Montanari and many others.

From 2015 to 2017 she was a member of the Youth Opera Program at the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, where she worked under the guidance of Professor Dmitry Vdovin. Since 2017 she is a soloist at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.

In 2016 she was a member at the Rossini Opera Academy in Pesaro, under the direction of Alberto Zedda. Following her time there, she took part in the Rossini Opera Festival, singing the role of Marchesa Melibea in Rossini’s Viaggio a Reims. After debuting at the Rossini Festival, she sang Rossini’s Giovanna D’Arco cantata at the Moscow International Performing Arts Center. Also in 2016, she debuted at the Bolshoi Theater, in Mozart’s Così fan tutte.

In 2017, Vasilisa Berzhanskaya was a member in the Salzburg Festival’s Young Artists Program. In the 2017-2018 season, she sang Angelina’s role in Rossini’s La Cenerentola at Theater Basel, before returning to the Salzburg Festival. In the 2017-2018 season, she debuted as Rosina in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia at Deutsche Oper Berlin, after which she sang the same role at the Mikhailovsy Theater St. Petersburg. Also she debuted as Siebel in Faust and she sang the role of Marchesa Melibea in Rossini’s Il viaggio a Reims, in the new production at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.

In the season 2018-2019 at the Deutsche Oper Berlin she debuted as Fenena in Nabucco and as Olga in Eugene Onegin . She also debuted as Vagaus in Juditha Triumphans by Vivaldi at the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam and as Aristea in L’Olimpiade by Vivaldi in Basel and at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
