The NZSO is 75 years young in 2022, and we’re celebrating our birthday with a gala concert. Free to our audience and streamed live online, Jubilee showcases classical favourites chosen by conductor Gemma New, and best-loved works chosen by you!

In between Rossini’s famously galloping William Tell Overture and Rimsky-Korsakov’s flavourful Capriccio Espagnol, you’ll get to choose from a list of perennial orchestral favourites. Will Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto make the cut? How about Khachaturian’s Sabre Dance, Massenet’s Meditation from Thaïs, or Lilburn’s Aotearoa Overture? Or will Vaughan Willams’ perpetually popular Lark Ascending soar to the top? The choice is yours; cast your vote below.

Under the assured baton of Kiwi conductor Gemma New, fresh from debuting at Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and enjoying an international reputation that just keeps rising, Jubilee is our chance to celebrate not only the NZSO’s milestone anniversary, but also to show our deep gratitude to loyal Kiwi audiences for filling our concert halls for the past 75 years. Here’s to the next 75!
