This June, TEEKS will realise a long-held dream, performing live with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.

Over three nights in Wellington, TEEKS will perform a selection from his extraordinary songbook, including Never Be Apart, First Time and Remember Me, with each given a symphonic soul makeover by renowned Musical Director Mahuia Bridgman-Cooper and the NZSO, led by Principal Conductor-in-Residence Hamish McKeich.

When Te Karehana Gardiner-Toi, better known as TEEKS (Ngāpuhi, Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui), released his debut EP, The Grapefruit Skies, in 2017, jaws around Aotearoa dropped.

Between his smooth, expressive voice and smouldering stage presence, TEEKS quickly became a favourite on the local arts festival circuit. The Grapefruit Skies and his breakthrough singles "If Only" and "Never Be Apart" were quickly followed by performances throughout Australia and the UK. He gained several prestigious local music awards and nominations along the way, most notably Best Māori Artist at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.
