Setting Up Camp – The Soldier's Tale
Setting Up Camp – Town & Country
In 2021 Setting Up Camp travels the width and breadth of the South Island during the summer and across the Auckland and Northland regions during the winter to engage New Zealanders from all walks of life. We’ll be in concert halls, community halls and school halls, meeting locals and getting people excited about listening and performing music!
We’re excited to perform Stravinsky’s The Soldiers Tale with dancers from the Royal New Zealand Ballet and to present music from Douglas Lilburn, Bernstein, Prokofiev, and many more great composers. We’ll perform for children of all ages with Schools Concerts and make the Orchestra more accessible for people who wouldn’t normally feel comfortable attending a regular performance with Relaxed Concerts.
Happy hour events give communities the chance to grab a drink and catch up with musicians in a relaxed environment. We’re looking forward to Setting up Camp in your region soon.
In March 2021 we are spending two weeks in the South Island visiting Dunedin, Invercargill, Oamaru, Ashburton, Christchurch, Blenheim and Nelson.
In June 2021 we will be back on the road to explore the greater region of Auckland, Whangarei and Kerikeri.
We’re looking forward to seeing you in 2021 and Setting Up Camp!
