FREE* concerts for school students designed to introduce them to the sights and sounds of the symphony orchestra. Lively and informative, these concerts will take you on a musical tour through the orchestra with eclectic and exciting music and an interactive presentation which brings students into the thick of the action.
In 2015 these performances are recommended for students in years 1-3.
In 2015, we’re delighted to present “The Happiness Box” written by Sir David Griffin with illustrations by Leslie Greener and adapted for orchestra and narrator by Bryony Marks. The themes of The Happiness Box are simple, inspiring and universal.
“Even if we have nothing else, if we have friends, if we are kind, if we are resilient and work hard, and if we use our brains, we can be happier than someone living in a king’s palace.”
The concerts are FREE* and advance booking is essential. Each concert lasts approximately 45 minutes
