Storytime a hit

Whānau around New Zealand loved the NZSO and Read NZ Te Pou Muramura’s Storytime episodes released over the July school holidays.

Composer Claire Cowan wrote four chamber music soundtracks performed by NZSO players for filmed readings of Mrs Wishy-Washy’s Farm by Joy Cowley, Sacha Cotter’s The Bomb, Miriama Kamo’s The Stolen Stars of Matariki and The Little Yellow Digger by Betty Gilderdale.

Each book was read by a special guest–television presenter and entertainer Suzy Cato (Mrs Wishy-Washy’s Farm), actor and award-winning musician Troy Kingi (The Bomb), television presenter and author Miriama Kamo (The Stolen Stars of Matariki) and actor and New Zealander of the Year Jennifer Ward-Lealand (The Little Yellow Digger).

We have received many messages of appreciation.

“Magnificent … an incredible experience and is so inspiring …Thank you for giving our books such world-class treatment.”

“Brilliant–loved the story and music. A magical production!”

“Absolutely wonderful.”

“So creative, I love it.”
