Founded in 1946, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra is the country’s national professional orchestra and one of the few touring orchestras in the world, performing in many cities and towns around New Zealand each year.

  • Premier arts organisation
  • Varied and busy role; a key member of the Artistic Planning team

Reporting to the Head of Artistic Planning, the Senior Manager - Schedule and Logistics will play a pivotal role in leading a small and busy production team, whose focus is on delivering excellent production and stage management operations for the NZSO.

This is both a strategic and operational role, where you will actively contribute to the planning, scheduling and delivery of national (and from time-to-time, international) tours including core repertoire, education, outreach and development events.  Key accountabilities include participating in planning and then supervising the implementation of the NZSO’s concert, education, outreach and development activity, overseeing the day-to-day touring operations of the Orchestra, budgeting economically viable events and team leadership.

It is an exciting time to join the NZSO as there is a lot on the agenda, with more focus on trying new activities and broadening our education events. We are therefore seeking a self-starter who is great with detail, with energy, creativity and fresh ideas to contribute to the great work the Artistic Planning team is already doing.
