Founded in 1946, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra is the country’s national professional orchestra and one of the few touring orchestras in the world, performing in many cities and towns around New Zealand each year.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services, the Travel and Tours Executive plays a critical role in arranging and coordinating all travel and accommodation needs for the musicians, administration staff and Board of the NZSO, plus the guest artists both national and international.
Key accountabilities include making reservations with providers (air travel, bus and coach travel, accommodation), and ensuring all travel needs (domestic and international), on either a Group or individual basis, are met. This role also has a key responsibility to deliver excellent interdepartmental communications for all orchestral travel activity. Keeping the Orchestra’s management software, ArtsVision, updated with accurate travel and accommodation information, as well as completing the Travel Payroll and claims for reimbursement in line with policy are also key components of the role.
This is an extremely busy role that occasionally requires out-of-business-hours work. We are therefore seeking a self-starter who is able to deliver on a very busy role that requires excellent relationship management skills plus the ability to get the details right every time.
