Performing to New Zealanders is what we do. During lockdown, to keep in touch with our audiences the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra created Engage@Home, a way for our musicians to come together online to continue performing music for everyone.

The NZSO is now proud to present a selection of the music from our online concerts Realising Beethoven, Play Our Part and Shed Series, performed live across several locations in Te Papa.


Realising Beethoven - 10.30am

Throughout the recent lock-down, and during Level 2 - Concertmaster Vesa-Matti Leppänen was joined by his fellow musicians from the NZSO to showcase a selection the great composer Beethoven’s chamber works on the 250th anniversary of his birth. Today you can discover snippets of these celebrated pieces with members of the NZSO throughout the central spaces of Te Papa.

Play our Part - 12.30pm

At times like these, we all must Play Our Part. A fitting title to the online series that NZSO launched following nationwide lockdown on 25 March, today throughout the central spaces of Te Papa you will hear some favourite player picks from the Wednesday night streamed series that features all sorts of wonderful music from the NZSO whānau.
