Not to be missed! Ashburton-born Wagnerian tenor Simon O’Neill is one of New Zealand’s most successful singers, with performances at La Scala and Bayreuth, the Royal Opera House, and Covent Garden. Join Simon for an intimate conversation about his journey to the top of the operatic world, the few days before he performs as a soloist in Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 with the NZSO.
In Conversation events provide a fascinating insight into some of the world’s greatest performers. The evening commences with canapes and a selection of stunning wines by Craggy Range, and a chance to mingle with donors, NZSO players, and the featured artist.
The main part of the evening is dedicated to music and performance, their experience of the NZSO, and the programme of music they are performing with the orchestra.
Throughout the evening, musical interludes are performed by a chamber group of NZSO players.
The evening concludes with more canapes and wine by Craggy Range, as well as the opportunity to ask questions of our players.
