Vivaldi The Four Seasons
Farrenc Symphony No. 3

Pekka Kuusisto has been described as “a fantastically exciting violinist, as well as a conductor” (Times). He brings his “tremendous technique and ebullient abandon” (Pioneer Press) to direct and perform The Four Seasons by Vivaldi. Its stunning musical depictions of lazy summer afternoons and brisk winter winds continue to delight.

Kuusisto also conducts the Third Symphony by early Romantic composer Louise Farrenc. Though well-regarded in her own time despite considerable professional hurdles due to her gender, Farrenc was, until recently, forgotten. But her works, considered by today’s leading conductors to be on par with Schumann and Mendelssohn, are now regaining the admiration they richly deserve.
