Disclaimer

The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra (NZSO) may vary these Terms and Conditions at any time. By continuing to use the site after the terms have been varied you agree to be bound by the variation.

General terms 

  • Tickets are sold by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and various Ticketing Agents. By purchasing a ticket, you will be taken as having read, understood and accepted the following Terms and Conditions

  • Booking, Transaction and credit card fees may be applicable

  • Tickets are valid only when purchased from the NZSO or an authorised agent

  • Tickets are non-refundable unless otherwise required by law

  • When purchasing a ticket it is taken as understood that it may not be possible to have a clear view of all artists on stage including NZSO players, conductor, and guest artists

  • The NZSO reserves the right to add, withdraw, reschedule or substitute any artist or performer

  • All dates, times, artists, repertoire, seating arrangements, venues and price reserves are subject to change or cancellation by the NZSO without notice. Where changes such as these are made, tickets are non-refundable unless required by law. The only exception is when an event is cancelled and there is no further performance of that event

  • Members to the NZSO can exchange tickets for another concert in the same season.  Ticket exchanges can not be transferred to following years

  • If NZSO Members are unable to use ticket(s) purchased directly from the NZSO Box Office, the value of the ticket(s) can be credited to their NZSO Membership account. To receive a credit, Members must complete an online return request form or contact the NZSO Ticketing Team before the concert date on the ticket(s). Credit can be used for NZSO concerts or Memberships and expires 12 months after the date of issue

  • The NZSO reserves the right to record, broadcast and simulcast any performance. If you are photographed, filmed or taped whilst attending an NZSO performance, you consent to the NZSO or third parties appointed by the NZSO, filming and taping you. The NZSO or third parties appointed by the NZSO can broadcast, publish, licence and use any photographs, film, recordings and images of you without compensation. The NZSO, the third parties and anyone acquiring from them a right to use the material are not liable to you in any way for its use

  • The right of admission is reserved and is subject to the NZSO’s and venue’s terms of admission

  • Late arrival to the venue may result in a seating delay until a suitable break in the event occurs, if any

  • Where special pricing is available, suitable identification will be required at the time of ticket pickup to prove that the conditions required for that special pricing are met

  • Child price tickets are available to those aged 18 years and under at time of booking

  • Flash photography, video or audio recording of any type is prohibited

  • Mobile telephones, pagers and personal devices must be set to silent before entry into the venue’s auditorium

  • The NZSO reserves the right to refuse admission where tickets are lost or damaged, or tickets are not purchased through an authorised point of sale

  • A charge may apply for the replacement of allocated (seated) tickets. General Admission (tickets where seating is not allocated) cannot be replaced

  • You acknowledge that you are responsible for your own property

  • You acknowledge that you are responsible for your own safety and for the safety of any person accompanying you

  • The NZSO is not liable to you for any claims, damages, compensation, losses or expenses as a result of an NZSO performance being cancelled, postponed or changed

  • To the extent permitted by the law, you release the NZSO (including its directors, officers, employees, consultants, contractors, agents and volunteers) from any liability for any damage, loss, liability or injury you may suffer in relation to your attendance at a venue, howsoever caused, including due to any negligence or other act or omission of the NZSO

  • You agree to compensate the NZSO for any damage, loss, liability or injury the NZSO may suffer as a result of your wilful, reckless or negligent acts or omissions at a venue

  • Your personal information is held by the NZSO, its ticketing agents and/or the Venue. It will not be sold or passed on to any other party. If you’ve opted to receive email updates from the NZSO and have provided an email address, you will be sent regular email newsletters. You can opt out of these at any time

Use and copyright

  • This Site and the information contained within it are for your own personal and non-commercial use only

  • You agree that you will not use any device or software that interferes with the proper working of this Site. You agree that you will not take any action that imposes an unreasonably large burden on the Site

  • The information contained within this Site (including programming scripts, graphics and logos) are copyright of the NZSO. You may make any copies of any information reasonable to your viewing of the Site and may retain a single permanent copy for your personal reference. The information may not otherwise be used, copied, reproduced, published, altered or transmitted in any form or by any means in whole or in part without the prior written approval of the NZSO.

Social Media - Community guidelines

We ask that you engage with us and other people on these pages in a respectful and lawful way. We may delete posts and comments which contain:

  • racist, sexist, homophobic or other forms of hate-speech

  • confidential information (including contact details and personal or health information)

  • misinformation

  • spam or advertising

  • offensive language, abuse or threats

  • nudity, pornography or child abuse

  • excessive violence

  • content that is illegal, gives instructions for illegal activity or advocates illegal activities

  • is not relevant or is inappropriate

  • defames any person or organisation

We reserve the right to remove any content we believe violates our terms of use. We may also report, block or ban anyone who posts the above content or comments, or who breaches these terms of use.
By joining our online community and engaging with us through social media you are considered to have consented to our terms of use for social media accounts.
