Looking Back
August 2005 was NZSO’s first trip to the UK and debut at the BBC Proms on the 18th in the Royal Albert Hall, London. James Judd - conductor, Jonathan Lemalu - bass baritone. There was also a special sponsor concert at Cadogen Hall (the orchestra's rehearsal space while in London) which included Haydn's Toy Symphony featuring star soloists, one of which is NZ High Commissioner, Jonathan Hunt.
The orchestra also performed at the Aldburgh Festival at Snape Maltings, Suffolk with Kiri Te Kanawa. The orchestra then flew from London to perform at the Concertgebouw- Amsterdam.
After Amsterdam a smaller orchestra went on to perform at the World Expo in Aichi, Japan.
