Symphonic Storms - Schools' Concerts in Rotorua and Kirikiriroa Hamilton
This is an exciting and interactive NZSO concert specially curated for primary and intermediate students featuring some of the world’s most famous storm-themed music.
Join the NZSO for an immersive musical journey where nature's storms take center stage, conducted by internationally renowned Finnish conductor Dima Slobodeniouk.
In a schools’ concert that showcases the turbulent weather-inspired music of Beethoven, Vivaldi, and Strauss, students will experience the power of swirling winds, crashing thunder and torrential rain, set amidst serene landscapes.
Through interactive activities, including performance of The Rain Storm, a specially composed body percussion piece for the audience by NZSO Music Education Animateur, Chris Lam Sam, ākonga are inspired to be curious and inventive as they connect with NZSO musicians in an unforgettable concert.
So, grab your umbrellas and get ready to weather the storm in this captivating musical adventure!
