She received scholarships to pursue further study with Ilona Sie Dhian Ho at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.
While in the Netherlands, Julia was Concertmaster of the Royal Conservatory Classical Orchestra and performed with various contemporary music ensembles. She also participated in many summer schools and performed at festivals, including in Gutenstein, Austria.
Julia holds a Master of Arts in Cultural Studies from the University of Sydney. She loves playing chamber music and has performed with various ensembles in Auckland, the Netherlands and Sydney.
One of the great things about playing in the NZSO is the fantastic people and musicians who I get to work with every day. And living in Wellington, I love being so close to the bush and trails while still being so close to the city and work.
