Orchestra Jams

Orchestra Jams are a fun and informal opportunity for players of orchestral instruments to play through a selection of easy orchestral pieces with the expert assistance of our NZSO musicians! 

These jams are also a great way to revise a few 'back-to-basics' skills like breathing, posture, pizzicato, and phrasing with our players and get your students enthused about playing. NZSO Orchestra Jams are open to all ages- the more players we can jam with, the merrier! 

On the day of your NZSO Orchestra Jam, please bring: 

  • a music stand 

  • your own instrument (except percussionists)  

  • your own sheet music on the day 

Wellington – Michael Fowler Centre 
Sat 9 Aug 2025, 1.30pm – 2.30pm  

Auckland – Auckland Town Hall 
Sat 16 Aug 2025, 1.30pm – 2.30pm 

This is a free event, but registration is essential. Bookings open approximately one month prior to the event taking place.
