Application information for the 2026 Alex Lindsay Awards will be available on 01 June 2026. 

APPLICATION INFORMATION

• We require the following documents and files for your application:

• A completed budget of your proposed expenses. The budget template can be accessed here.

• An audio recording of the exposition of a concerto (unaccompanied)

• Audio recordings of orchestra excerpts for your instrument (see excerpt PDFs below)

• A list that details the name, duration and order of your concerto and excerpt recordings

• Two references written within the last 12 months

• CV including future study plans and long-term career aspirations

• Proof of citizenship or permanent residency if you were born outside of NZ.

• Applicants for the Giese Flute Grant do not need to send an audition tape, just a written application of their short and long-term musical goals and what they intend to spend the grant money on.

Applications open on 01 June 2025 and close on 31 July 2025.

ELIGIBILITY

• Applicants must be a New Zealand citizen or resident

• Applicants must play an orchestra instrument

• Applicants must be 25 years of age or younger as of 30 September 2025.
