Mahler Symphony No. 2 Resurrection
Voted the fifth greatest symphony of all time by BBC Music Magazine, this unique collaborative performance of Mahler’s immense masterwork celebrates the DSO’s 60th anniversary, bringing together the talents of the NZSO, DSO, soprano Anna Leese and a 150-strong choir. Under the baton of acclaimed conductor James Judd, this one-night-only concert will be an unmissable event.
The concert opens with an exciting new work by Dunedin composer Anthony Ritchie, Fanfare Kotahitanga. This fanfare was commissioned by the NZSO, and it will showcase the brilliance and power of both the NZSO and DSO brass sections.
