Handel Messiah
Hallelujah! Ever since its first performance, Handel’s Messiah has been one of the most performed and best-loved pieces of music ever written.
Originally premiered in April 1742, Handel’s Messiah has become a Christmas tradition for many. Handel’s masterpiece, including favourites the Hallelujah Chorus and The Trumpet Shall Sound, will fill the Michael Fowler Centre this December. Bought to life by the NZSO, led by British conductor Thomas Blunt, Messiah features the Tudor Consort choir and four of Aotearoa New Zealand’s finest singers.
Madison Nonoa, Anna Pierard, Filipe Manu and Benson Wilson are all Lexus Song Quest winners or finalists, and it is our pleasure to welcome them home to rejoice in the festive spirit.
