Join the Elouan String Quartet for an intimate journey through sunlight, ritual and shimmering colour.
Haydn’s String Quartet Op. 76 No. 4, Sunrise, earns its nickname from the luminous violin line that rises over sustained chords at the opening, beginning a work of warmth, wit and effortless invention.
New Zealand composer John Psathas’ Abhisheka brings a compelling contemporary voice, drawing its title from a Sanskrit ritual of blessing and transformation.
Ravel’s String Quartet completes the programme with music of sensuous harmony, rhythmic vitality and extraordinary delicacy. From whispered textures to surging energy, the work reveals four musicians operating as one.
Presented in the close-up setting of the Musicians’ Series, this concert offers a chance to experience the precision, personality and expressive range of chamber music at its finest.
