NZSO Foundation

The NZSO Foundation is the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra’s independent charitable trust, guided by a dedicated team of experts and Trustees.

Committed to maintaining and growing the NZSO’s impact across Aotearoa New Zealand, the Foundation supports musical excellence, education and community activities and is committed to nurturing the next generation of orchestral audiences.

Bequests and legacy gifts are invested in the NZSO Foundation’s endowment fund to support the long-term objectives of the NZSO, and 100% of donations received, fund the orchestra’s annual concert, education and community activities bringing the transformative power of music to people throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.

Vincent Aspey played a formative role in shaping the artistic legacy of the NZSO as concertmaster (1946–1967), and it is in honour of his enduring commitment to the national orchestra that the NZSO Foundation’s bequest programme was originally established.
