Brahms Symphony No. 3
Enter a rich and intimate sound world under the baton of acclaimed young conductor Nicolas Ellis. Debussy’s Clair de lune glows in a luminous orchestral arrangement, while Ravel’s Two Hebraic Songs brings delicacy, colour and evocative musical storytelling.
French clarinettist Pierre Génisson then performs Golfam Khayam’s concerto, a compelling meeting of Western and Eastern influences written to showcase his smooth, subtle and nuanced artistry.
Brahms’ Symphony No. 3 brings the evening to a deeply satisfying close. Inspired by the flow of the Rhine and guided by the composer’s personal motto “free but happy”, the symphony combines strength with tenderness and ends not in triumph, but in tranquil reflection. Moonlit Brahms is a beautifully balanced journey through atmosphere, lyricism and quiet emotional depth.
