Discover the sound of orchestral music’s future at the Todd Young Composer Awards. Since 2004, hundreds of young New Zealand composers have been given the rare opportunity to develop their work with the national orchestra—hearing their ideas rehearsed, refined, performed and professionally recorded. This concert is the culmination of that creative process, presenting bold new music by the next generation of Aotearoa composers. Every piece offers a different perspective, from intimate textures and striking new colours to music that tests the full power of the orchestra.
Join the NZSO for an evening of imagination, experimentation and discovery, and encounter new voices at a pivotal moment in their artistic journeys. Your next favourite New Zealand composer may be on the programme.
