Led by NZSO Music Director André de Ridder and Animateur Chris Lam Sam, this lively, podcast-style concert combines live orchestral music with stories, demonstrations and musical insights that unpack Beethoven’s most famous symphonic works.
Students will hear highlights from all nine symphonies while discovering how Beethoven experimented with rhythm, melody, dynamics and the orchestra itself to break conventions and influence generations of composers who followed him.
Designed for students in Years 7-13, this concert is an entertaining introduction to one of classical music’s most influential composers, whether your students already know Beethoven or are encountering his music for the first time.
Booking is essential: seats are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis.
