Celebrate the NZSO’s return to the beautifully restored Wellington Town Hall with Mahler’s monumental Symphony No. 2, Resurrection. Gemma New leads a 100-strong orchestra, choir, soprano Madeleine Pierard and mezzo-soprano Deborah Humble on an overwhelming journey from darkness to radiant hope, concluding with the Wellington Town Hall’s might organ in music’s most exultant finales.
A newly commissioned work by leading Wellington composer Salina Fisher opens these landmark performances. A triumphant homecoming, and an unforgettable opening to the NZSO’s 80th-anniversary season.
