Global organ sensation Anna Lapwood makes her Aotearoa New Zealand debut in a concert where film, minimalism and symphonic grandeur collide. Her own arrangement of Hans Zimmer’s Interstellar Suite brings the score’s soaring emotion to the pipe organ, alongside Kristina Arakelyan’s vivid Toccata.
At the programme’s centre is Max Richter’s Cosmology, composed especially for Lapwood and fusing Richter’s hypnotic musical language with her charisma and virtuosity.
In Wellington, André de Ridder completes the journey with Bruckner’s monumental Symphony No. 8, whose immense brass sonorities seem to expand the hall itself.
In Auckland, Richard Strauss’ Also sprach Zarathustra provides a spectacular cosmic finale. Expect music that glows, surges and shakes the room—an unforgettable encounter with one of today’s most compelling classical artists.
