The Dr John Gallagher Concert Chamber is the largest of the University of Waikato's five main venues

Dr John Gallagher Concert Chamber

Opened in 2001, it has established a reputation as one of the most intimate and acoustically satisfying concert halls in New Zealand. Its high ceiling, wall panels and wooden floors are designed specifically for acoustic chamber music.

It is a regular venue for concerts by Chamber Music New Zealand, OPUS Orchestra and staff and students from the University of Waikato's Music Conservatorium. It has hosted solo concerts by some of the world's leading pianists, including Nikolai Demidenko, Martin Roscoe and Alexander Melnikov.

The Chamber has a capacity of 341 seats.
