Before joining the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Alex studied and worked in the UK and Sweden.

Alex spent eight years as a member of the Gothenburg Opera Orchestra, in addition to touring and recording with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra.

He has worked with the Royal Operas in Stockholm and London, the Gothenburg and London Symphony Orchestras, and the Academy of St Martin’s in the Field.

His expertise extends to playing the natural horn, most notably with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.

I love the stunning New Zealand landscape and our extended orchestra community, it’s like a huge family.
